About Me

Hello, I'm Ally!

If I had to use two words to describe myself besides wife and mother, it would be high heels and aprons! I love to cook, and I try to make everything from scratch. Sometimes it's tedious, but I really want my kids to enjoy home made food, and to learn how to make it themselves. High Heels and Aprons is a catalog of my domestic "adventures" raising a family and everything that comes along with it!

In 2010 I opened a bakery called Allyson Jane.  I am so beyond excited about my new adventure and I can't wait to share everything with you!
I have been married for almost 10 years and I have two beautiful little kids. My son Jacob is 8 years old... like all other 8 year old boys he is obsessed with Star Wars and Indiana Jones. My daughter Caroline is 6 and wants to be just like mom... high heels and aprons... although now she's become obsessed with knee high boots! Is it odd that she recognizes the Chanel logo?

I am thankful for my wonderful husband who manages to keep this home in order when I am constantly making a mess of it!

Thank you for visiting and please tell your friends!

I just found your website today and am going to try to make cloud marshmallows for my daughter 3rd b-day party....we are doing Somewhere Over The Rainbow :)(she heard it on American Idol and in now obsessed). I am halfway done with some cake bites and will finish when I get home from work today.
I was also wondering if you could share your royal icing recipe with me….I can NEVER get it right. Sugar cookies either….I love baking but will be the first to tell you I am not very good at it….when is this practice makes perfect thing going to start :)
P.S. my husband and I are from WA. He’s a WSU grad and I went to Central…..now we live in San Diego. I have many friends from college in the Puyallup, Bonney Lake, Seattle area…..small world to find this website today and so glad I did! Nicole Graichen

  4. I would love your royal icing recipe as well. writer@itctel.com
I hope I have the patience for it. I just got a convection oven and now I don't burn every cookie!! But my largest cake pan doesn't fit in it. Oh well.
Another question for you: I have a Canon printer dedicated to edible images. What brand/type of "paper' do you use? Your images are so sharp and saturated with color. My ink carriage gets clogged and then my black disappears. Frustrating.
    Love everything you do!!!
